Ruchika Sikri is Google’s Head of Wellbeing Learning Programmes. Ruchika is working at the core of Google’s mindfulness training curriculum and leading an active global peer-to-peer network of volunteers supporting and teaching mindfulness, resilience and stress management. Ruchika has spent 14 years at Google in the US and prior to that was at Cisco and Microsoft in India. Ruchika practices daily yoga and meditation and believes in the power of mindfulness. She has shared this with her colleagues at Google where she created a successful programme with 20,000 participants by training 400 volunteers – hosting virtual meditation sessions.
Ruchika grew up in India in a difficult home environment. Due to her family’s financial issues, Ruchika had to find a way to fund her own education and was determined to be successful despite the odds against her. Ruchika’s breakthrough was getting onto an internship at Microsoft and from then she climbed the corporate ladder in the tech world and moved to the US to be with her husband and start a family. Ruchika will share her story of resilience and how she was determined to succeed in life despite her challenging background. Ruchika will share her practical self-care tips with the audience which she continues to practice daily and she strongly believes they help us to deal with the trials and tribulations we all face in life.
