Nicola Brentnall MVO
Nicola Brentnall has 25 years’ experience at CEO and Board Level across the private, public and voluntary sectors. Most recently, she was the founding CEO of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, a youth development organisation that supports young people in 54 countries. The leadership skills, influencing techniques and an empathetic ear for diverse cultures across the globe, in a public facing organisation, is a story in its own right and gives a real insight into the resilience and creativity required to build a global organisation fast and from scratch – with many competing pressures – including relevance as a much older person working to build a youth development brand.
Alongside this, Nicola is an accomplished public speaker, known for her energy and ability to connect with and inspire people from all backgrounds, ages and stages in life. She is a trained mediator and experienced in tackling conflict, finding common ground and bringing people together.
However, behind this strong, energetic, optimistic personality, Nicola hides a story of childhood experiences that had lifelong implications for her self-confidence and self-belief. Nicola’s story will leave you emotionally moved but inspired by her resilience and courage and how she drew upon these experiences to make a positive difference in the world.
